Inner Sydney is a collection of documentary photographs exploring Sydney's harbour, streets, shops, cafés and everyday life. Photographed across the city, these images capture people in unguarded moments — waiting, walking, talking, shopping and gathering — alongside the architecture, signage, vehicles and streetscapes that give Sydney its distinctive character.

From the waterfront and the Opera House precinct to busy shopping streets, cafés, pubs and quieter suburban streets, the photographs record a changing Sydney through observation rather than staging. Period cars, shop signs, clothing and architecture become part of the story, preserving details of everyday life that can easily disappear.

The collection reflects David Lindsay's interest in photographing people and place as they naturally occur, creating an authentic visual record of Inner Sydney and its people.
